Coating powders - Part 4: Calculation of lower explosion limit (ISO 8130-4:2021)
This document specifies a method for the calculation of the lower explosion limit of a coating powder, i.e. the minimum concentration of the coating powder in air which will form an explosive mixture. It is based on the measurement of the gross calorific value of the product, as determined by the method described in ISO 1928.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zum Berechnen der unteren Explosionsgrenze eines Pulverlackes fest, d. h. der Mindestkonzentration eines Pulverlackes in Luft, bei der sich eine explosionsfähige Mischung ergibt. Das Verfahren basiert auf der Messung des Brennwertes des Produktes nach ISO 1928.

Le présent document prescrit une méthode de calcul de la limite inférieure d’explosivité d’une poudre pour revêtement, c’est-à-dire la concentration minimale de la poudre pour revêtement dans l’air pouvant former un mélange explosif. Cette méthode repose sur le mesurage du pouvoir calorifique supérieur du produit, tel que déterminé par la méthode décrite dans l’ISO 1928.

Ta dokument določa metodo izračuna spodnje meje eksplozivnosti praškastih premazov, tj. najnižjo koncentracijo praškastega premaza v zraku, pri kateri nastane eksplozivna mešanica. Temelji na izmeri bruto kalorične vrednosti izdelka, ki se ugotovi z metodo iz standarda ISO 1928.

This document (EN ISO 8130-4:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 "Paints
and varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2022, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 8130-4:2010.
