IEC 60068-2-5:2018 is now available as IEC 60068-2-5:2018 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.
IEC 60068-2-5:2018 specifies the methods for testing equipment or components under simulated solar radiation conditions. This document is applicable to the equipment and components at the surface of the earth. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition of published in 2010. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
- the title of this document has been modified;
- the current thermal effect test method, specified as "Test method Sa" has been retained and the weathering test method specified as "Test method Sb" has been added.

IEC 60721-2-7:2018 addresses the occurrence of fauna and flora, including its main effects on electrotechnical products. Exposure and damage from the effects of fauna and flora can occur at almost any time in a product's life cycle. Moreover, there are many agents of attack with various actions.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 1987. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
- This edition has been entirely rewritten.
This bilingual version (2018-11) corresponds to the monolingual English version, published in 2018-03.
The French version of this standard has not been voted upon.

IEC 60068-2-18:2017 is now available as IEC 60068-2-18:2017 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.
IEC 60068-2-18:2017 provides methods of test applicable to products which, during transportation, storage or in service, can be subjected to falling water drops, impacting water, immersion or high pressure water impact. The primary purpose of water tests is to verify the ability of enclosures, covers and seals to maintain components and equipment in good working order after and, when necessary, under a standardized drop field or immersion in water.
These tests are not corrosion tests and cannot be considered and used as such.
Established water tests in other standards are not intended to simulate natural rainfall and their quoted intensities are too high to be adopted for that purpose. Therefore, in addition to the high-intensity severities, test R includes an artificial rain test based upon natural conditions but not taking into account high wind speeds generally associated with natural rain.
Guidance is given on the applicability of the tests and the severities to be selected.
This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2000. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a. addition of the new test method Rb 3.

IEC 60068-2-5:2010 provides guidance for testing equipment or components under solar radiation conditions. The purpose of testing is to investigate to what extent the equipment or components are affected by solar radiation. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 60068-2-5, published in 1975, and IEC 60068-2-9, published in 1975, and constitute a technical revision. The main changes with respect to the previous edition are listed below: This second edition of IEC 60068-2-5 will make the reading much easier, partly because it includes guidance for solar radiation testing, previously published in a separate publication, IEC 60068-2-9, and partly because it now allows the use of all lamps specified in CIE 85 and published in 1985 by the International commission on Illumination. The contents of the corrigendum of December 2010 have been included in this copy.

Demonstrates how to estimate the uncertainty of steady-state temperature and humidity conditions in temperature and humidity chambers. Since this is inextricably linked to the methods of measurement, these are also described. This standard is equally applicable to all environmental enclosures, including rooms or laboratories. The methods used apply both to temperature chambers and combined temperature and humidity chambers. This standard is meant to help everyone using climatic test chambers. Those already familiar with uncertainty of measurement will find it useful for guidance on typical sources of uncertainty and how they should be quantified and combined. It is also intended to assist the first-time or occasional user who has little or no knowledge of the subject. To discuss uncertainty, it is important first to understand what is being measured or characterized. The calibration or characterization of the performance of a chamber is concerned with the humidity and temperature of the air in the chamber, as experienced by the item under test, at a given set point. This should not be confused with characterizing or calibrating the chamber sensor, which is a separate matter.

IEC 60068-2-10:2005 Provides a test method for determining the extent to which electrotechnical products support mould growth and how any mould growth may affect the performance and other relevant properties of the product. Since mould growth conditions include high relative humidity, the test is applicable to electrotechnical products intended for transportation, storage and use under humid conditions over a period of some days at least. The main changes with respect to the previous edition are listed below:
- Two test fungi replaced by two others
- Concentration of the spores defined for each test fungus
- Spores suspension in mineral salt solution additionally introduced
- Pre-conditioning of the specimens by damp heat storage prescribed
- Supersonic aerosolization of the spores suspension as the preferred inoculation method introduced
- Duration of incubation reduced from 84 days to 56 days
- Extent of mould growth grade 2 split into grade 2a and grade 2b
- Detailed information on methods of inoculation given in Annex B
- Annex E: flow-chart deleted.

IEC 60068-2-74:1999 Gives a method of test which provides a standard procedure to determine the ability of components, equipments or their constituent materials to withstand accidental contact with fluids, without being unacceptably affected. The fluids listed are representative of those commonly encountered in operational applications. It is not intended that a specimen should be exposed to all, or even any of them. Nor is the list intended to be complete; fluids not listed and for which a test is appropriate should be included in the relevant specification. Guidance is given in Annex A on the choice of test fluids, specimens and severities. These tests are not intended to demonstrate the suitability of components or equipments to perform in continuous contact with a fluid, e.g. an immersed fuel pump. Nor are they a test to demonstrate immunity from electrolytic corrosion.
