This Technical Specification gives guidance for the assessment of conformity of compounds/formulations, products and assemblies in accordance with EN 1401 1. It applies to those compounds/formulations, products and assemblies intended to be included in the manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of third-party certification procedures.
NOTE 1 It is recommended that the quality management system conforms to or is no less stringent than the relevant requirements of EN ISO 9001 [1].
NOTE 2 If third-party certification is involved, it is recommended that the certification body is accredited to either EN 45011 [2], EN 45012 [3] or EN ISO/IEC 17021 [4], as applicable.
NOTE 3 In order to help the reader, a basic test matrix is given in Annex A.
In conjunction with EN 1401 1 (see Foreword), this Technical Specification is applicable to piping systems made of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) used for the following puposes:
- for non pressure underground drainage and sewerage outside the building structure (application area code "U"), reflected in the marking of products by "U";
- for non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage for both buried in ground within the building structure (application area code "D") and outside the building structure (application area code "U"), reflected in the marking of products by "UD".

Diese Technische Spezifikation enthält Empfehlungen für die Konformitätsbewertung von Formmassen/Zu-sammensetzungen, Erzeugnissen und Bauteilkombinationen nach EN 1401-1. Sie gilt für solche Form-massen/Zusammensetzungen, Erzeugnisse und Bauteilkombinationen, die für eine Verwendung im Qualitätssicherungsplan des Herstellers als Teil des Qualitätsmanagementsystems und zur Einführung von Verfahren der Drittstellenzertifizierung vorgesehen sind. ANMERKUNG 1 Es wird empfohlen, dass das Qualitätsmanagementsystem den Anforderungen von EN ISO 9001 [1] oder mindestens ebenso strengen Anforderungen entspricht. ANMERKUNG 2 Bei Drittstellenzertifizierung wird empfohlen, dass die Zertifizierungsstelle, in Abhängigkeit der Anwendung, nach EN 45011 [2], EN 45012 [3] oder EN ISO/IEC 17021 [4] zugelassen ist. ANMERKUNG 3 Zur Unterstützung der Leser enthält Anhang A einen Überblick über das Prüfsystem. Diese Technische Spezifikation gilt in Verbindung mit EN 1401-1 (siehe Vorwort) für Rohrleitungssysteme aus weichmacherfreiem Polyvinylchlorid (PVC-U) für Abwasserkanäle und -leitungen, die in erdverlegten Schwer-kraftentwässerungssystemen für folgende Verwendungszwecke vorgesehen sind:
- für Anwendungen außerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen "U"); auf dem Erzeugnis gekennzeichnet durch "U";
- für Anwendungen sowohl erdverlegt innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen "D") als auch außerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen "U") eingesetzt werden; auf dem Erzeugnis gekennzeichnet durch "UD".

La présente Spécification technique fournit un guide pour l’évaluation de la conformité des
compositions/formulations, produits et montages en conformité avec l’EN 1401-1. Elle s’applique aux
compositions/formulations, produits et montages destinés à être inclus dans le plan qualité du fabricant dans
le cadre du système de management de la qualité et pour l’établissement de procédures de certification par
tierce partie.
NOTE 1 Il est recommandé que le système de management de la qualité soit conforme aux exigences pertinentes de
l’EN ISO 9001 [1] ou au moins aussi strict que ces exigences.
NOTE 2 En cas de certification par tierce partie, il est recommandé que l’organisme de certification soit accrédité selon
l’EN 45011 [2], l’EN 45012 [3] ou l’EN ISO/CEI 17021 [4], suivant le cas.
NOTE 3 Afin d’aider le lecteur, une matrice d’essais de base est fournie en Annexe A.
Conjointement avec l’EN 1401-1 (voir l’Avant-propos), la présente Spécification technique s’applique aux
systèmes de canalisations fabriqués à partir de poly(chlorure de vinyle) non plastifié (PVC-U) utilisés pour les
applications suivantes :
- pour les branchements et les collecteurs d’assainissement enterrés sans pression à l’extérieur de la
structure du bâtiment (code de zone d’application « U »), repérés au niveau du marquage des produits
par la lettre « U »,
- pour les branchements et les collecteurs d’assainissement enterrés sans pression aussi bien à l’intérieur
de la structure du bâtiment (code de zone d’application « D ») qu’à l’extérieur de celle-ci (code de zone
d’application « U »), repérés au niveau du marquage des produits par les lettres « UD ».

Ta tehnična specifikacija vsebuje navodila za ugotavljanje skladnosti spojin/formulacij, izdelkov in sestavov s standardom EN 1401-1. Uporablja se za tiste spojine/formulacije, izdelke in sestave, ki naj bi se vključili v poslovnik kakovosti proizvajalca kot del sistema vodenja kakovosti in za vzpostavitev postopka certificiranja, ki ga izvajajo tretje osebe. This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 6 September 2011 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
