This document specifies a method for the evaluation of the resistance of automobile finishes and other
coatings to the impact of a wedge-shaped body projected onto the surface under test to simulate the
impact of stones.

This document (EN ISO 20567-2:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 "Paints
and varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2017 and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by August 2017.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

Vorwort
Dieses Dokument (prEN ISO 20567-2:2014) wurde vom Technischen Komitee ISO/TC 35 „Paints and
varnishes“ in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 139 „Lacke und Anstrichstoffe“
erarbeitet, dessen Sekretariat vom DIN gehalten wird.
Dieses Dokument ist derzeit zur parallelen Umfrage vorgelegt.
Dieses Dokument wird EN ISO 20567-2:2006 ersetzen.
Die wesentlichen Änderungen sind:
a) Es wurde festgelegt, wann die Geräte zu kalibrieren sind;
b) die Verweisung auf die digitale Bildanalyse wurde gestrichen;
c) der Abschnitt über die Probenahme wurde gestrichen;
d) die Beschreibung geeigneter Verfahren zum Entfernen loser Partikel wurde als Beispiel in einen
informativen Anhang überführt, und für den Klebebandabriss ist die Klebkraft des Klebebandes nicht
länger festgelegt;
e) einige geringfügige Änderungen wurden vorgenommen;
f) die Norm wurde redaktionell überarbeitet, und die normativen Verweisungen wurden aktualisiert.
EN ISO 20567 mit dem allgemeinen Titel „Beschichtungsstoffe — Prüfung der Steinschlagfestigkeit von
Beschichtungen“ besteht aus den folgenden Teilen:
Teil 1: Multischlagprüfung
Teil 2: Einzelschlagprüfung mit geführtem Schlagkörper
Teil 3: Einzelschlagprüfung mit frei fliegendem Schlagkörper

Der Text von ISO/DIS 20567-2:2014 wurde vom CEN als prEN ISO 20567-2:2014 ohne irgendeine
Abänderung genehmigt.

Einleitung
In der Automobilindustrie werden Mehrschichtlackierungen zum Schutz der Karosserie aufgetragen. Streugut,
Straßenschotter u. a. verursachen an diesen Lackierungen Einschläge, wobei einzelne oder sämtliche
Schichten vom Substrat abplatzen können.
Steinschlagschäden werden durch Einzel- bzw. Multischlagprüfverfahren nachgestellt. Teil 1 der Norm be-
schreibt ein Multischlagverfahren, Teil 2 und Teil 3 der Norm beschreiben Einzelschlagverfahren.

Dieser Teil von ISO 20567 legt ein Verfahren zum Beurteilen der Beständigkeit von Kraftfahrzeug-
