This document (EN ISO 15098:2020) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 106
"Dentistry" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 55 “Dentistry” the secretariat of which
is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2020, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2020.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 15098-2:2000, EN ISO 15098-3:2000 and EN ISO 15098-1:2001.

This document was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/106, Dentistry, Subcommittee SC 4, Dental
instruments.
This first edition of ISO 15098 cancels and replaces the first edition of the tree parts of ISO 15098
(ISO 15098-1:1999, ISO 15098-2:2002 and ISO 15098-3:2000).
The main changes compared to the previous editions are as follows:
— combination of ISO 15098-1, ISO 15098-2 and ISO 15098-3 in one document;
— requirement for reprocessing has been added in in 5.7;
— requirement for UDI code has been added in Clause 7;
— deletion of Annex A (Measurement of dimensions).

1 Scope
This document specifies general requirements and test methods for metallic dental tweezers. In
addition it specifies dimensional requirements for specific types of dental tweezers such as Meriam
