This document specifies a test method for determining the resistance to elevated temperature cycling
of thermoplastics piping systems for non‑pressure applications, inside buildings or buried in the ground
within the building structure.
This document is applicable to piping systems with components of nominal outside diameters up to and
including 200 mm.
Although limited to nominal outside diameters up to and including 200 mm, the test results may be
extrapolated to products of larger nominal outside diameters from the same range.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Widerstandsfähigkeit von Rohrleitungs-systemen aus Thermoplasten für drucklose Anwendungen, innerhalb von Gebäuden oder erdverlegt inner-halb der Gebäudestruktur gegen eine Temperaturwechselbeanspruchung fest.
Dieses Dokument gilt für Rohrleitungssysteme mit Bauteilen mit Nennaußendurchmessern bis einschließlich 200 mm.
Obwohl auf Nennaußendurchmesser bis einschließlich 200 mm begrenzt, dürfen die Prüfergebnisse auf Produkte mit größeren Nennaußendurchmessern aus der gleichen Reihe extrapoliert werden.

Ta dokument se uporablja za cevne sisteme in njihove sestavne dele z nazivnim zunanjim premerom do vključno 200 mm.
Čeprav je omejitev nazivnega zunanjega premera 200 mm, je mogoče rezultate preskusa ekstrapolirati na izdelke z večjim nazivnim zunanjim premerom v istem obsegu.

This document (EN ISO 13257:2018) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 138 "Plastics
pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC
155 “Plastics piping systems and ducting systems” the secretariat of which is held by NEN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2019, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2019.

the transport of fluids, Subcommittee SC 1, Plastics pipes and fittings for soil, waste and drainage (including

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 13257:2010), which has been technically
revised. The major modifications to the previous edition are:
— revision of the Scope to delete the references to application areas "B", "BD" and "UD";
— addition in the Scope of the range of nominal outside diameters of components to which this method
is applicable;
— addition of a definition for “sagging”;
— complete review of Clause 6, Test assemblies, in particular distinction between test assemblies
including pipes with integral sockets and fittings with socket and spigot (Figure 1) and test
assemblies including pipes without integral socket and fittings with sockets (Figure 2) for
components d ≥ 40 mm;

— in Clause 7, addition of Figure 4 to illustrate the measuring point of the column of water.
