IEC 61951-1:2013 specifies marking, designation, dimensions, tests and requirements for portable sealed nickel-cadmium small prismatic, cylindrical and button rechargeable single cells, suitable for use in any orientation. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition (2003) and its amendment 1 (2005) of which it constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:   - addition of several new cell sizes;  - introduction of a new cell type J;  - creation of Annex A (informative): Capacity of batteries measurement.

L'IEC 61951-1:2017 spécifie le marquage, la désignation, les dimensions, les essais et les exigences applicables aux éléments et batteries d’accumulateurs parallélépipédiques, cylindriques et boutons, étanches, au nickel-cadmium, pouvant être utilisés dans toutes les orientations, pour applications portables.
Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l’édition précédente:
- ajout du type de batterie;
- révision de la Figure 3 (6.1.3.1);
- ajout de la note "picot facultatif" au contact positif;
- modification de la position de la ligne de repère du picot aux surfaces planes du contact positif (B et G).

IEC 61951-1:2013 določa označevanje, določanje, dimenzije, preskuse in zahteve za majhne posamezne prenosne ponovno polnljive hermetične nikelj-kadmijeve prizmatične, cilindrične in gumbaste celice, ki se uporabljajo pri vsaki orientaciji. Ta tretja izdaja razveljavlja in nadomešča drugo izdajo (2003) in njeno dopolnilo 1 (2005), ter predstavlja tehnično popravljeno izdajo. Ta izdaja vključuje naslednje pomembne tehnične spremembe glede na prejšnjo izdajo:   – dodane so nove velikosti celic, – predstavitev novega tipa celice J, – oblikovanje dodatka A (informativno): Zmogljivost merjenja baterij.
