NACIONALNI UVOD

Standard SIST EN ISO 14050 (sl, en), Ravnanje z okoljem – Slovar (ISO 14050:2020), 2020, ima status
slovenskega standarda in je istoveten evropskemu standardu EN ISO 14050, Environmental
management – Vocabulary (ISO 14050:2020), 2020.

Ta standard nadomešča SIST EN ISO 14050:2010.

NACIONALNI PREDGOVOR

Mednarodni standard ISO 14050:2020 je pripravil tehnični odbor Mednarodne organizacije za
standardizacijo ISO/TC 207 Ravnanje z okoljem v sodelovanju s CCMC (CEN-CENELEC Management
Center).

Slovenski standard SIST EN ISO 14050:2020 je prevod angleškega besedila evropskega standarda EN
ISO 14050:2020, ki je istoveten mednarodnemu standardu; k dokumentu je dodan evropski predgovor.
V primeru spora glede besedila slovenskega prevoda v tem standardu je odločilen izvirni evropski
standard v angleškem jeziku. To izdajo standarda je pripravil tehnični odbor izdajo SIST/TC UZO
Upravljanje z okoljem.

Odločitev za privzem tega standarda je 1. novembra 2020 sprejel tehnični odbor SIST/TC UZO
Upravljanje z okoljem.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards
bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out
through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical
committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International
organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO
collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of
electrotechnical standardization.

Introduction
Communication is important in the implementation and operation of environmental management
systems. This communication will be most effective if there is a common understanding of the terms used.
With the aim of simplifying the harmonization of terms and definitions in the field of environmental
management, each terminological entry contains a generic definition. Notes to entry and examples have
been included only in a few cases. Standards developers may add notes to entry and examples as needed
to adapt each entry to serve the purpose of each individual document.
The terminology is arranged in sub-clauses, each representing a specific sub-domain. One of these sub-
clauses (3.1) contains terms and definitions intended to be used in all management system standards.
The sequence of the term entries corresponds to the concept diagrams in Annex B.
ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1, Annex L (previously Annex SL of the ISO Supplement), “Proposals for
management system standards” includes terms and definitions to be used in all management system
standard. This is an important terminology source for this document.
ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1, Annex M (previously Annex SP of the ISO Supplement), “Policy for the
development of sector-specific management standards and sector-specific management system
standards (MSS)” stipulates rules for the use of ISO 14050 terminology in environmental management
standards, in particular in sub-clauses M.5.2.5 and M.5.2.6:

management systems and tools in support of sustainable development. These include management
systems, auditing and different types of assessment, communications, footprinting, greenhouse gas
management and adaptation to climate change.
The terms and definitions given in this document are intended to be guiding reference for future and
revised documents in the ISO 14000 series.
