LPG equipment and accessories - Environmental considerations for CEN/TC 286 standards
Protection of the environment needs to be considered during the total life-cycle of a particular product, e.g. impact on the environment including expenditure of energy during all phases of its life-cycle, from mining of raw materials, production, testing, packaging, distribution, maintenance and use, end-of-life disposal and recycling of materials, etc.
This Technical Specification provides information on the environmental aspects of equipment and accessories produced for the LPG industry. The following is addressed:
a) design;
b) manufacture;
c) packaging;
d) use and operation;
e) disposal.

Der Umweltschutz muss für den gesamten Lebensweg eines bestimmten Produkts betrachtet werden, z. B. Umweltauswirkungen, einschließlich des Energieaufwands während aller Phasen des Lebensweges, vom Abbau der Rohstoffe über die Herstellung, Prüfung, Verpackung, Verteilung, Wartung und Verwendung bis zur Entsorgung am Lebensende und Wiederverwertung der Werkstoffe usw.
Diese Technische Spezifikation enthält Angaben zu den Umweltaspekten von Geräten und Ausrüstungsteilen, die für die Flüssiggasindustrie hergestellt werden. Folgendes wird behandelt:
a) Auslegung;
b) Herstellung;
c) Verpackung;
d) Verwendung und Betrieb;
e) Entsorgung.

La protection de l'environnement doit être prise en compte durant le cycle de vie total d'un produit donné, par exemple l'impact sur l'environnement, y compris la consommation d'énergie durant toutes les phases de son cycle de vie, depuis l'extraction des matières premières, la fabrication, les essais, l'emballage, la distribution, l'utilisation et l'entretien, la mise au rebut et le recyclage en fin de vie des matériaux, etc.
La présente Spécification technique fournit des informations sur les aspects environnementaux des équipements et accessoires produits pour l'industrie du GPL. Les points suivants sont abordés :
a) la conception ;
b) la fabrication ;
c) l'emballage ;
d) l'utilisation et le fonctionnement ;
e) la mise au rebut.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 15 December 2014 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,
Finland, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,
Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United
Kingdom.
